Reframe Goals After Pivot
Requirements
Description of the pivot/change, current team goals, new strategic direction
1
Ask the user about the pivot:
- What changed? (strategy shift, reorg, market change, leadership change)
- What were your team's goals before the pivot?
- What's the new strategic direction?
- What stays the same vs. what needs to change?
- How is the team feeling about this change?
- Timeline—when does the new direction take effect?
Understanding the nature of the pivot helps frame the right narrative.
4
Generate reframing: what changed and why, goal translation table (old to new),
revised OKRs aligned to new direction, team talking points (acknowledge, explain,
ask), leadership narrative, and morale considerations with transition timeline.
5
Present the reframing and offer:
- "Want me to help draft the team announcement?"
- "Should I create 1:1 talking points for individual conversations?"
- "Need help preparing for pushback or difficult questions?"
